    CPS - Archdale Business Breath.mp3

     (129K)
We're unsure about this one. At the beginning, you'll hear a beeping which is the door alarm as we come back in the building from talking outside. Prior to us re-entering, the building was empty, and the recorder in question was in the 2nd floor office. We are one floor (and 20 or so steps) down from the office. Sounds like a breath!

    CPS - Caretaker's House - Deep Angry Voice.mp3

     (116K)
This was (we believe) the same voice from the one captured upstairs (listed on our official Audio Clips page). It was captured downstairs in the Master Bedroom, while Dave, Barry, and Jared were investigating upstairs. Brandie and John are outside on the cams, and you can hear Brandie laughing and John responding at the beginning of the clip. The deep voice that comes over top of them was quite unexpected.

    CPS - Caretaker's House - Knock Response.mp3

     (299K)
We only captured knock responses one time during our investigation of the Caretaker's House. You can hear me ask for the response, then two knocks by me. Approximately 6 seconds or so later, two very deep knocks are heard. We had to throw this out as most likely coincidence because it only happened once, but that doesn't mean it's not paranormal.

    CPS - Caretaker's House - Metal Sound.mp3

     (451K)
The following sound was captured during our investigation of the Caretaker's House. If you read the investigation recap, this is the "ting" mentioned. You'll hear Brandie talking about not wanting to take something that's not hers, then shortly after you'll hear a VERY faint metal sound. I noticed Brandie heard something by her facial reactions, and asked about it.

    CPS - Caretaker's House - More Metal Sound.mp3

     (227K)
Another example of the metal "ting" heard above. This one is at the very beginning of the clip, and the rest is John and Jared reacting to hearing it.

CPS - Old Charleston Jail - Lavinia Fisher Room Voice.mp3

     (245K)
Probably the audio clip we're most divided on both at CPS and from our fans. About half hear a female voice saying "help me" in a very drawn out manner, and the other half hear either a car horn or bell. With the acoustics and open windows of the Old Jail, it's impossible to be sure one way or the other, so we threw it out. What do you think?

    CPS - Private Business - Child's Voice.mp3

     (319K)
This audio was captured on the fourth floor of a building downtown, the same one that the "murmuring" clip came from on our Audio Clips page. This was one floor lower, and due to sounds being heard earlier from outside on the street, even that far up, we threw this one out. We heard no audio from outside on the fifth floor recorder. It's hard to say for sure if it's paranormal. But very creepy indeed.

    CPS - Private Business - Where's My Toy.mp3

     (216K)
During our investigation into a local business, we were able to debunk several claims based on cracks in the walls and the way the building was constructed. However, in one room, I captured this very loud knock response which we have no explanation for. I had laid my IR Thermometer on the table beside my audio recorder, and asked for any spirits to let me know where the toy was. As interesting as the response is, it only happened once, and due to normal building creaks and knocks, we had to chalk it up as most likely a coincidence. Doesn't at all mean it's not paranormal.

    CPS - U.S.S. Yorktown - Hot Down Here.mp3

     (372K)
So, we have never investigated the U.S.S. Yorktown (yet), but once on a visit with another CPS member I had brought my audio recorder just in case. We captured this apparent response from one of the kitchens. It was ridiculously hot inside the ship, and I was asking if any spirits out there agreed with me. The first part is the original recording and the second part of the clip has a dehumming and dehissing filter applied to make it easier to hear.
