The Charleston Paranormal Society, or CPS, was begun in February of 2008. Upon having several experiences that we can't explain, and talking with people who have had similar encounters, we chose to form our own group, with like-minded friends. We are dedicated to exploring paranormal phenomena, but approaching it with fact-finding intentions. Simply put, we seek answers. If we try and use rational and scientific methods to recreate the experiences and cannot, then we are left with something unexplained.
But our work doesn't stop there. It is our mission to not only get answers, but also to help people deal with what they are experiencing. We won't leave you by yourself. That is our promise to you, and by that you can expect a mature investigation, findings, and advice on what steps to take next. And, as always, we will be available should these events continue after we leave.

If you would like us to investigate, please read over the following requirements:
- In order to maintain a quiet and controlled environment, we ask that at most, one person be present to allow us entry.
- Although paranormal experiences are not limited to complete darkness situations, we find this ideal for the type of equipment we utilize. We would like to kill all lights before an investigation begins. We can make small exceptions, but keep in mind that our Infrared and Low-Light Sensors function ideally in darkness.
- Once a date and time has been set, please keep this information from family/friends. This will ensure that we are able to complete our investigation without interruption.
- We DO NOT perform exorcisms, bless houses, or promise any outcome from our investigation. We are simply there to find answers, analyze our findings, and give recommendations based upon those results. We can, at your request, put you in contact with people we trust to perform religious acts.
- Serious inquiries only...we are non-profit, and therefore must commit our time to those in need of help and answers.
Prior to the beginning of the investigation, clients are asked to sign several waivers, which outline what we do, how we handle potential evidence, and our legal responsibilities. Please be understanding and allow us to go over this with you.
And lastly, what we stand for: We are here to help find answers through scientific and rational reasoning. Our experiences with "orbs" have led us to conclude that they are nothing more than dust or bugs. Therefore, we do not consider these any more than that. And most importantly of all: your privacy means everything to us. At your request, we will share with our loyal followers whatever you wish us to, or nothing at all. That is your choice, and one we stand behind completely.
